Job Title: Senior Business Intelligence Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Consultant to join our team in Portugal. As a Senior BI Developer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge dashboards and data visualizations that empower informed decision-making for both our organization and our clients.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Dashboard Design & Development: Create dynamic, interactive dashboards and reports tailored to meet the needs of business stakeholders, ensuring visualizations are user-friendly, visually compelling, and insightful.
  • Data Preparation & Optimization: Collaborate with data engineers to understand and profile data sources, develop and optimize data extracts, calculations, and models for efficient reporting.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business users to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into scalable, technical solutions.
  • Performance & Scalability: Monitor and resolve performance issues in dashboards by optimizing queries, datasets, and data models for efficiency.
  • Best Practices & Governance: Implement industry best practices for dashboard design, data governance, and visualization to ensure data integrity, consistency, and scalability.
  • Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of dashboards, data sources, and processes, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest BI tools, features, and industry trends to continuously enhance solutions and methodologies.
  • Requirements:
  • Languages: English (mandatory – spoken and written)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Around 6 years of hands-on experience in business intelligence and data visualization, with a strong focus on Power BI.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Power BI for creating dashboards, DAX calculations, and data modeling, strong expertise in T-SQL for querying and data manipulation (PL/SQL is a plus).
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze complex data sets and transform them into actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data Governance: Familiarity with data governance and visualization best practices is advantageous.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Power BI / Microsoft Fabric certification is highly desirable.
  • Additional Tools: Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, Looker) and familiarity with big data technologies.
  • Cloud Expertise: Knowledge of cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and associated data services.
  • Programming Skills: Experience with Python and data-related libraries.
  • Advanced BI Systems: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and SAP BI / SAP Business Warehouse is a plus.
