Job Title: Senior BI Developer (Microsoft Stack)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Work Regime: Full-time & Hybrid (2x office days)

Overview / Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Specialist with extensive experience in the Microsoft SQL ecosystem, responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing corporate BI solutions, ensuring data quality, performance, security, and reliability.

• Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize corporate BI solutions, ensuring data quality, performance, security, and reliability across the Microsoft SQL ecosystem.
• Define end-to-end BI architectures and build complex data models using relational and dimensional modeling (Star Schema / Snowflake).
• Develop ETL/ELT processes with SSIS and analytical models with SSAS (Multidimensional and Tabular), including DAX and MDX.
• Create reports and dashboards in SSRS and Power BI, implementing security and access control (including RLS).
• Perform performance tuning and monitoring (SQL code, indexes, execution plans) and support Development, Testing, and Production environments.
• Produce technical documentation, enforce data governance, gather business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Participate in critical, high-complexity projects and provide technical leadership and mentoring.

Requirements

• Mandatory Requirements:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields
• +5 years of proven experience in BI projects
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016–2022)
• Advanced T-SQL skills (complex queries, optimization, tuning)
• Experience in relational and dimensional modeling (Star Schema / Snowflake)
• Proficiency in SSIS (ETL/ELT processes)
• Experience in SSAS (Multidimensional and Tabular)
• Proficiency in DAX and MDX
• Experience with SSRS and Power BI (modeling, dashboards, RLS)
• Strong knowledge of performance optimization and monitoring
• Experience in implementing security and access control
• Proven ability to support multiple environments (Development, Testing, Production)
• Strong communication skills with both technical and functional stakeholders

• Complementary Requirements:
• Microsoft certifications in Data, BI, or Analytics (preferred)
• Experience in data governance and technical documentation
• Experience in high-complexity or critical BI projects
• Technical leadership and mentoring experience
