Senior Engineer, Cloud Strategy

The Senior Engineer, Cloud Strategy is responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions that align with the organization’s business objectives. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and collaboration to optimize the organization’s cloud ecosystem. The Senior Engineer partners with product teams, architects, and leadership to ensure effective execution of cloud strategies, with a strong focus on cross-functional, end-to-end delivery of cloud solutions.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Strategy and Architecture
  • Design and implement cloud strategies to support business objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend cloud platforms, services, and tools to meet organizational needs.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for cloud architecture, focusing on reliability, cost-effectiveness, and automation.
  • Cross-Functional, End-to-End Delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, developers, operations, and security, to deliver integrated cloud solutions.
  • Ensure seamless alignment between business requirements, technical design, and implementation.
  • Drive the end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from concept to deployment, while maintaining high-quality outcomes.
  • Identify and address delivery bottlenecks, ensuring timely completion of cloud initiatives.
  • Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on cloud architecture and optimization.
  • Collaborate with architects and platform teams to design end-to-end cloud solutions.
  • Lead technical assessments, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and implementations for cloud projects.
  • Innovation and Emerging Technologies
  • Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate emerging cloud capabilities (e.g., AI, machine learning, and container orchestration).
  • Advocate for innovative cloud solutions to improve business outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Partner with stakeholders to align cloud initiatives with business priorities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in cloud strategy during cross-functional discussions and planning.
  • Create and deliver presentations, documentation, and training to ensure effective communication of strategies and solutions.
  • Qualifications
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, architecture, or related roles.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
