VMware Cloud Engineer – Hybrid (Lisbon)

Velocity Tech is looking for a VMware Cloud Engineer to join a high-performing Systems & Computing team. The role focuses on building, maintaining, and optimising a private cloud infrastructure using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

  • Location & Working Model
  • Hybrid: 2 days remote, 3 days on-site (Lisbon preferred)
  • First 2 months fully on-site
  • VCF 9 environment (VCF 5 experience also considered)
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy & manage VMware SDDC via Cloud Builder/VCF Installer
  • Oversee SDDC lifecycle, patching, and workload automation
  • Create & configure vSAN clusters with appropriate storage/fault tolerance policies
  • Deploy & manage NSX (Tier-0/Tier-1 gateways, micro-segmentation, BGP, OSPF) and NSX Advanced Load Balancer
  • Implement and manage Aria Suite (Operations, Logs, Automation) including CI/CD pipelines with Git, Terraform, and IPAM
  • Deploy & manage VMware Tanzu (supervisor clusters, namespaces, image registry) with performance monitoring and lifecycle management
  • We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Proven VMware Cloud Foundation experience (VCF 5 or above)
  • Strong knowledge of vSAN, NSX, Aria Suite, and Tanzu
  • Experience with automation, cloud monitoring, and network security in VMware environments
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code tools
