The Role

As our Senior Platform & DevOps Engineer, you’ll design and operate the infrastructure that keeps thousands of athletes connected in real time — delivering data, insights, and performance feedback with minimal latency and maximum reliability.

This is a hands-on role for a builder who thrives in high-growth environments. You’ll work across AWS, CI/CD, automation, and backend systems to ensure our apps, gameplay, and data pipelines run smoothly, securely, and efficiently at scale.

You’ll blend DevOps expertise with backend awareness, understanding how infrastructure choices affect user experience, performance, and data consistency.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Architect, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (ECS/Fargate, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront, Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for web, backend, and mobile (React Native, Node.js).
  • Configure Cloudflare, CloudFront, and S3 for global delivery, caching, and low-latency performance.
  • Design for scalability and uptime with redundancy, auto-scaling, and failover strategies.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and MySQL databases.
  • Integrate monitoring, logging, and alerting (Datadog, CloudWatch, Grafana) for full observability.
  • Implement security best practices — encryption, IAM, access control, GDPR/CCPA compliance.
  • Use AI-assisted tools (Claude, Copilot, Cody) and automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make).
  • Continuously optimize cost efficiency across AWS resources.
  • Support the mobile build and release pipelines, ensuring stability and security.
  • You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years in DevOps, infrastructure, or backend engineering.
  • Deep experience with AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, CloudFormation, Terraform).
  • Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, container orchestration, and serverless architectures.
  • Experience managing and scaling databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MySQL).
  • Hands-on experience with Cloudflare, CloudFront, and S3.
  • Familiar with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools (Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch).
  • Experience embedding security into pipelines (SSDL).
  • Collaborative mindset and ownership mentality — you care about performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Additional Skills
  • Mobile/web CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
  • Real-time data pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
  • Mobile build automation (Fastlane, EAS, TestFlight, Play Console).
  • Networking, VPC configuration, load balancing, and cost optimization.
  • Experience supporting multiplayer or Unreal Engine environments.
  • Nice to Have
  • Background in IoT or connected devices, especially Bluetooth or sensor data.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven observability and predictive scaling.
  • Knowledge of edge computing and CDN optimization (Cloudflare Workers, Lambda@Edge).
  • Experience with ISO 27001 or SOC 2 frameworks.
  • Contributions to open-source DevOps or infra projects.
  • Passion for triathlon, swimming, or endurance sports, or an understanding of what drives athletes to train and improve.
