I am currently supporting one of my clients — a fast-growing international technology company operating at the intersection of digital platforms and the hospitality sector. My client designs and develops user-centric products and services, with a strong focus on application performance, scalability, and security.

As part of strengthening its cybersecurity capabilities, the company is looking for an Application Security Engineer to join its international team.

Responsibilities

• In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities across a wide range of web applications and systems. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Conducting vulnerability assessments and application security reviews
• Supporting development teams by providing technical recommendations and secure coding best practices
• Monitoring and responding to security incidents, and helping implement corrective actions
• Staying informed about emerging threats, attack vectors, and industry best practices
• Collaborating with infrastructure and DevOps teams to enhance cloud security, particularly in AWS environments
• Promoting security awareness and contributing to internal knowledge sharing
• Applying OWASP methodologies to support threat modeling and secure development lifecycle activities

• Profile Sought
• Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in application security testing (excluding internships and apprenticeships)
• Solid understanding of modern security protocols, encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages, ideally JavaScript-based (Node.js, TypeScript)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure security, particularly AWS
• Knowledge of common tools and frameworks for manual and automated security testing
• Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CEH) are a plus
• Very good command of English
