Job Summary

• We are seeking a Head of Data Science to lead our Data Science team and drive scientifically grounded intelligence across multiple areas such as recommender systems, risk modeling, and pricing. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience with data science, at least 3+ in managerial roles, and strong leadership skills to build, manage, and inspire a team.
• Responsibilities
• Manage a team of data scientists by providing necessary tools, mentoring, and tracking development plans.
• Drive business value by leveraging understanding of Universo and customers to identify valuable areas for data science to make a difference.
• Lead data science innovation by taking ownership of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions directly influencing the future of customer service.
• Enable close collaboration with Universo teams to discover new ways to enhance products and integrate ML models into systems.
• Proactively manage assumptions, take calculated risks, and anticipate potential issues by planning deliverables and orchestrating resources accordingly.
• Ensure operational excellence by measuring efficiency, AI regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring team solutions run smoothly in production.
• Requirements
• 5+ years of experience with data science and at least 3+ years in managerial roles.
• Strong leadership skills to build, manage, and inspire a team.
• Solid grounding in machine learning, AI, and advanced analytics.
• Comfortable working with Python, SQL, and cloud platforms enabling shipment of data science solutions to production.
• Deep expertise in technical architecture of large-scale machine learning systems.
• Aptitude for thriving in ambiguity breaking down complex problems into actionable steps.
• Proven expertise in stakeholder management and fostering strong relationships.
• Excellent business understanding to drive informed engineering decisions.
