• The role
• Develop and maintain existing data models built with PySpark notebooks
• Manage codebase, data extraction, datasets and data flows in Azure
• Analyse datasets and provide information about the data
• Keep all data and IT resources in a secure and compliant environment
• Code PySpark notebooks to create data marts in Azure
• Code SQL queries, create views, stored procedures and functions
• Enrich existing data models with additional use cases and business rules
• Manage Spark serverless pools, Power BI workspaces, workflow automation, pipelines, triggers and data storage.
• Manage groups in Entra IDs, roles and authorisations for Azure resources
• Document the code base, databases, data lakes and ETL processes

Qualifications

• The requirements
• Curiosity to understand the business domain and transform datasets into data models
• Rigour and attention to detail in documenting the code base and datasets
• Advanced PySpark development skills
• PySpark scripting in Azure Synapse
• Command of SQL development
• Empathy with users and IT colleagues when dealing with the data lake
• Excellent command of spoken and written English to document technical material
• T-SQL development for large transactional databases in SQL Server
• Git version control for large code bases
• Agile framework Scrum
