Our client is an early-stage AI startup developing cutting-edge technology to bring responsible AI into the legal sector. With a strong focus on safety, transparency, and verifiability, they're building next-generation retrieval systems to support legal professionals in their daily workflows. They're now looking for a researcher to help advance trustworthy AI in a high-impact, high-stakes domain.

• ???? Responsibilities
• Develop novel retrieval techniques to provide users with high-quality, explainable, and verifiable information from large knowledge bases.
• Explore advanced embedding and attention mechanisms to improve interpretability and alignment with user intent.
• Investigate reinforcement learning and other approaches to train retrieval systems with a focus on safety, transparency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with our internal research team and research partners on multiple ongoing projects.
• Produce high-quality scientific papers for top-tier NLP and AI conferences and journals.

???? Profile Sought

You're a highly motivated and curious researcher with a strong NLP, Deep Learning, and Information Retrieval background. You’re driven by impact, love complex challenges, and care about building technology responsibly - especially in high-stakes domains like law.

Education

A Master’s degree in MsC in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field

• Experience
• Hands-on experience developing and training NLP and Deep Learning models.
• Familiarity with LLMs and retrieval systems.
• Research experience with publications in top-tier conferences/journals is a plus

• Nice To Have
• Proficient in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, Jax, or TensorFlow.
• Strong knowledge of NLP techniques and recent advances in LLMs.
• Bonus: experience with reinforcement learning and attention mechanisms.
