Data Science Professional

• At Metyis, we seek a skilled data science professional to collaborate with our Data and Analytics team in Porto. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to developing AI & Data solutions and drive business growth through data-driven insights.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Support data-driven decision-making by preparing and analyzing data related to customer behavior, CRM performance, and sales across multiple channels.
• Work closely with data scientists and business stakeholders to translate business questions into meaningful insights.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to support data science model development.
• Use Python and SQL to clean, process, and visualize data in support of analytics and modeling projects.
• Apply basic statistical methods (e.g., descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, hypothesis testing) to uncover insights.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across sources by collaborating with data engineering and IT teams.
• Communicate findings clearly through presentations and storytelling.
• Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or a related data role.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or Engineering.
• Experience working with data using SQL and Python (pandas, matplotlib/seaborn).
• Experience with PySpark and Spark technologies is a strong plus but not mandatory.
• Basic understanding of statistics and its application in business analytics.
• Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
• Good communication skills including the ability to explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Team player with a proactive mindset and willingness to grow in a collaborative environment.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
• Knowledge of Python packages used in machine learning (e.g., scikit-learn).
