We are looking for an experienced CMDB & Data Visualization Specialist to own the design, maintenance, and governance of data visualization solutions supporting IT asset and inventory management processes.

This role sits at the intersection of IT Operations, Security, Finance, and Business, ensuring high-quality CMDB data, streamlined ServiceNow workflows, and actionable Power BI dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Visualization & Reporting
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for asset and inventory KPIs (lifecycle, utilization, coverage, compliance)
  • Translate business requirements into data models and visualizations that support operational and strategic decisions
  • Automate and schedule data refreshes to ensure timely and reliable reporting
  • Collaborate with APS and operations teams to prepare data for service reviews and KPIs
  • CMDB & IT Asset Management
  • Own the end-to-end asset discovery, classification, and reconciliation process across on-prem, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Maintain and govern the ServiceNow CMDB (or equivalent), ensuring :
  • Accurate CI relationships
  • Correct lifecycle status
  • Clear CI-type definitions
  • Define and enforce naming conventions, attribute standards, and change-management integration
  • Implement and monitor CMDB data-quality metrics, leading health reviews and remediation actions
  • Reference Data & Integration
  • Manage and synchronize reference data sources (e.g. MAP or equivalent asset-referencing tools, vendor master data, procurement records)
  • Design data-mapping rules, ETL processes, and reconciliation jobs
  • Ensure a single source of truth across CMDB and Power BI data models
  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Governance
  • Act as the primary liaison between IT Operations, Security, Finance, and Business teams
  • Provide metrics, insights, and dashboards to support asset-related decisions
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to promote self-service analytics
  • Collaborate with IT Risk and Security teams to ensure compliance and audit readiness
  • Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure data handling complies with information-security policies, GDPR, and audit requirements
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing evidence of asset-tracking controls
  • Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual data entry and improve reporting efficiency
  • Stay current with best practices in CMDB, IT Asset Management (ITAM), and data visualization
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in :
  • Building Power BI dashboards (data modeling, DAX, custom visuals)
  • Managing CMDBs in ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms
  • IT asset / inventory management, including discovery and lifecycle processes
  • Strong expertise in :
  • Power BI (Desktop, Service, dataflows)
  • ServiceNow CMDB
  • Data analysis, reporting, and data quality management
  • Automation and scheduled data refresh
  • Understanding of reference data management (e.g. MAP or equivalent tools)

Hybrid Work : 2 / 3x a week in the office in Lisbon
