We are looking for a Network Engineer Team Leader (local contract) to work in our BPCE IT business unit.

BPCE Infogérance & Technologies is a subsidiary of Groupe BPCE, established in 2015. The company is dedicated to infrastructures, end-user environment, security, and production.

Within the Cœur Réseau department, the AFD (Administration des Fabrics Datacenter) team focuses on the LAN and MAN infrastructures of Groupe BPCE's datacenters in France and Europe.

The AFD team is involved in managing the MAN network infrastructure that connects the datacenters, legacy LAN infrastructure, Cisco/ACI, Arista/MP-BGP Evpn, datacenters, the network layer of the group's private cloud, and the network infrastructure connecting the group to the internet in Europe.

The team develops and supports network automation in an infrastructure-as-a-service mode.

The AFD team will eventually consist of 9 in-house staff members in Porto.

  • Key figures include:
  • 4 main data centers in France
  • 3 data centers in the group's subsidiaries in Europe
  • 2,400 switches and routers
  • 70,000 physical and virtual servers (70% in private cloud)
  • Multiple interconnections to the internet at 3 data centers
  • Average traffic of 20 Gbps

The AFD Team Leader organizes the monitoring of the network's overall production with the aim of maintaining an impeccable level of service.

  • Missions:
  • Participating in the recruitment of internal staff for the AFD team in Porto
  • Assessing and developing staff skills
  • Leading team meetings and agile rituals
  • Supporting the team in carrying out its projects
  • Maintaining a high level of network infrastructure service
  • Ensuring network supervision using monitoring tools
  • Handling production incidents as quickly as possible
  • Monitoring routine network configuration requests: VLAN creation, configuration changes, adding switches to fabrics, etc.
  • Supporting systems and applications teams in deploying their infrastructures on the network
  • Encouraging the automation of all processes

Qualifications:

  • Main Technical Requirements:
  • Strong technical knowledge: OSPF, BGP, MP-BGP Evpn, Multicast, Cisco ACI, Cisco/Arista CLI
  • Experience with network architectures involving several thousand devices
  • Knowledge of virtualized environments
  • Knowledge of automation and/or programming languages such as Ansible or Python
  • Knowledge of the Agile method
  • Ability to manage crisis situations
  • Other Requirements:
  • English level C1 and French C1
  • Experience as a network architect and ability to pass on your skills and vision of technical developments in the short, medium, and long term
  • Able to take a step back from your technical and human environment, identify improvements, and explain and implement them
  • Worked on large network architectures in environments subject to major operational constraints: trading rooms, call centers, etc.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good stress management
  • Autonomy
