• Network design
• Design networks that meet the needs of their organization or clients
• Create networking environments

• Establish security measures to prevent theft or other occurrences
• Monitor network security, availability, and performance
• Execute and preserve network security policies

• Network maintenance
• Configure, install, and maintain network equipment, including switches, firewalls, and routers
• Maintain networks to avoid security vulnerabilities and operational issues

• Troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot network problems and reduce downtime
