Job Description
This technical role supports early-career engineers with post-sales delivery, under the supervision of a senior Ciena engineer. The position provides Solution Engineering services like Solution Design, Solution Acceptance, Remote Deployment support, and Network Reconfiguration/Migration. It involves interacting with Systems Engineers (SE), Service Project Managers (SPM), Technical Support, Field Service Engineers, and Customer Service Advocate.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Support service partners during project deployment
  • Analyze Network Designs provided by SE to ensure consistent deployment and upgrades of Ciena Equipment
  • Translate Network Designs into Solution Designs for New-Build, reconfiguration, and Network Upgrade Projects
  • Gather and analyze customer network data to develop migration strategies for successful transitions onto the Ciena platform

Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field. Basic knowledge of L0/L1 optical/transmission and/or Layer2-3 (IP protocols) and/or scripting/DevOps skills are required. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to handle travel and work at night during maintenance windows.
