Why we need this role

We are seeking a Customer Engineer - German Speaker to join our team. This role involves extensive collaboration with various teams within Colt and will focus on delivering end-to-end support for designated customer solutions. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless service delivery while fostering strong relationships across teams and with customers. Proficiency in German is essential.

What You Will Do

  • Own within the Customer Solutions team the hand-over of new customer solutions ensuring proper documentation and configuration in monitoring and CMDB systems is available
  • Update and own the documentation for designated customers.
  • Provide technical insights and relevant procedures to the 24/7 team of Lead Engineers to manage complex Incidents within the Service Level Agreement (SLA)
  • Ensure that the appropriate problem resolution, incident management, and escalation processes are followed.
  • Proactively and effectively respond to escalations
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and help defining strategies for continual improvement of customer service quality and for future customer business developments.
  • Provides Support in change coordination for the specific customer solutions
  • Trains and mentors Technical Lead Engineers on the specific customer solutions owned
  • Holds Regular meetings with Customers, Service Managers and BRMs to review service quality
  • What We're Looking For
  • A good understanding and proven troubleshooting experience in various IP protocols including: BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of capability from a second level perspective in the Layer 3 products and Software Define Networks
  • Working experience with implementing, diagnosing and/or troubleshooting IP Access, MPLS and VPN solutions across a pan European network
  • Excellent knowledge of WAN (Packet) based products
  • Exposure to SDN Products and technology
  • A good understanding and proven troubleshooting experience in some of the following: MSP, Ethernet, WDM, DWDM, ADM, DCS
  • Proven working experience with vendors and their associated transmission equipment and management systems
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of capability from a second level perspective in the Transmission product group
  • Understanding the provisioning and maintaining of IP, Ethernet and Optical services across Backbone Networks
  • Experience with Network Management, Support systems and Vendor Specific Element Managers
  • Customer and service oriented
  • Proactive and with great Team Spirit
  • Ability to take decisions quickly and efficiently
  • German & English fluent both written and spoken
  • Good to have formal IT qualification CCNA, experience with ITIL and telecoms / computer science degree

Education

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a relevant field
