Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and driven Senior IP Engineer / Architect to join our IP Networks Team and help us design, build, and manage the future of our global IP infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about working with cutting-edge networking technologies, including SDN, and creating scalable, secure, and high-performance network solutions.

As a Senior IP Engineer / Architect, you will be at the forefront of shaping and evolving our global IP backbone, ensuring it supports interconnections with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and spans cross-continental data centers. You'll leverage SDN technologies to design and optimise network architectures that ensure seamless scalability, security, and performance. Your expertise will be crucial in building a future-proof network infrastructure that meets the growing demands of global connectivity and provides world-class solutions across multiple regions.

We are open to hiring for this position in Lisbon, Portugal, and São Paulo, Brazil. The successfully hired candidate will receive onboarding and training in Lisbon, gaining valuable skills while experiencing one of Europe's most dynamic and renowned cities.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • SD-WAN Implementation & Optimisation: Lead the deployment and optimisation of SD-WAN solutions to enhance wide area network performance, simplify network management, and reduce costs across our global infrastructure
  • SDN Architecture & Integration: Architect and implement SDN solutions to drive network automation, flexibility, and scalability, enabling centralised control and streamlined management of network resources
  • Global Network Design: Design, deploy, and manage a high-performance, global IP backbone, ensuring reliable interconnections with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and seamless cross-continental data center connectivity
  • Traffic Optimisation: Use SD-WAN to optimise network traffic, ensuring intelligent routing and minimising latency, while leveraging SDN to improve overall network efficiency and performance across regions
  • Cloud Integration: Seamlessly integrate modern solutions with cloud environments to ensure high availability, low-latency, and scalable connectivity across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, OCI)
  • Network Security & Compliance: Implement robust security policies for SD-WAN, Zero Trust models, VPNs, and firewalls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and securing cross-border data flows
  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement: Work closely with business units and cross-functional teams to deliver network solutions that meet evolving needs and ensure seamless service delivery
  • Automation & Orchestration: Leverage automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, and SD-WAN controllers to streamline deployment and optimize network configurations for operational efficiency
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimisation: Continuously monitor, analyze, and improve network performance using SD-WAN analytics and SDN monitoring tools, ensuring reliability and operational excellence
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure thorough and up-to-date network documentation, while delivering clear reports on network performance, scalability, and security to stakeholders
