Network Engineer for Packet and SDN Solutions
- We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving faults across our pan-European MPLS infrastructure and IP services.
- Key Responsibilities
- Monitoring and troubleshooting faults in our MPLS infrastructure and IP services
- Providing clear updates and professional support to customers
- Working closely with vendors and field engineers to manage escalations and complex issues
- Maintaining accurate incident records and generating technical reports
- Identifying and implementing solutions to recurring problems in Packet and SDN networks
- Requirements
- Understanding of IP Fundamentals and various Protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS
- Experience with implementing, diagnosing and troubleshooting IP Access, MPLS and VPN solutions across a pan European network
- Understanding the provisioning and maintaining of IP, Ethernet and Optical services across Backbone Networks
- Experience of UNIX based applications and trouble-shooting tools such as Telnet, FTP, TFTP, Traceroute
- Experience of one or more of the following Network Management and Support systems: Netcool, SMARTS, CiscoWorks, InfoVista, TACACS, Vendor Specific Element Managers
- Prior experience working with global network providers, NOCs, and field support teams to resolve technical issues
- Troubleshooting & Ownership – A team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes full ownership of issues, and collaborates effectively with internal and external teams to drive resolution
- Strong Communication – Ability to provide clear, professional, and service-oriented communication, both written and verbal
- Technical Certifications – Formal IT qualifications such as CCNP, CCSP, CCNA, or similar are highly desirable
- Language Skills – Fluent English (mandatory). Fluent German would be an advantage
