RAN Engineer

Contract Type: Initial 6-month contract

Up to €340/day

We are seeking an experienced Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer to support and manage radio optimisation projects for a large global network provider. The role involves working remotely with occasional travel to Newbury, UK. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in radio optimisation across 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, and 5G technologies, including root cause analysis and improvement recommendations.

You will be responsible for network performance management, anomaly detection, reporting, and drive test analysis. Strong technical proficiency with Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei hardware and software is essential, alongside expertise in network logical configuration and KPI analysis.

The role requires excellent soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities, as well as team and client management experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work on optimisation projects within mobile operators, utilising advanced tools and delivering high-quality technical support and reporting.

• Skills:
• Radio optimisation expertise in 2G, 3G, 4G, VoLTE, and 5G (SA and NSA)
• Root cause analysis and network performance improvement
• Proficient with Ericsson, Nokia, and Huawei hardware, parameters, and features
• Strong knowledge of radio site planning, rollout, and network logical configuration (power, electrical tilt, bands, technologies)
• Experience with Atoll, MapInfo, OSS, and performance management tools
• Proficient in raw counters and KPI formulas for multi-vendor equipment
• Network performance data analysis and anomaly detection
• Business intelligence dashboard creation and reporting
• Drive test analysis and reporting
• Team and client management, including offshore and inshore coordination

• Certifications & Standards:
• Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Vendor training certifications (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei) preferred
• Proven experience in deliverables quality control and project management
