At GPV, we are currently looking for a FTTx Network Automation Specialist — someone passionate about technology, with a strong background in engineering and software development, who can help us create intelligent solutions, optimise internal processes, and contribute to the future of connectivity.

This role is part of a new strategic innovation initiative at GPV, focused on developing tools and solutions powered by artificial intelligence and automation, supporting the delivery of high-performance network infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in enhancing the quality and efficiency of services we provide to major network operators across Germany and beyond.

  • Requirements
  • Degree or technical qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or similar fields.
  • Fluency in English (B2 level or higher); Additional languages are a plus.
  • Fiber Optics Planning Telecom Networks experience.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
  • Experience working with QGIS, including custom plugin development and automating GIS workflows.
  • Strong skills in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience with SQL databases, particularly for spatial data management (PostgreSQL/PostGIS preferred).
  • Solid programming skills to build software solutions that support innovation and project optimisation.
  • Exposure to FME (data-processing automation tools) is a Plus.
  • Ability to develop AI-based features that automate routine data work and boost tools used by engineering.
  • Responsabilities
  • Collaborate across teams to identify optimisation opportunities, document solutions, and contribute to a culture of continuous innovation.
  • Design intelligent features that automate routine tasks and support engineering teams with innovative software solutions.
  • Create and maintain custom tools using Python, QGIS (including plugin development), and SQL/PostGIS to enhance geospatial data workflows and engineering processes.
  • Analyse and manage complex datasets using Excel, databases, and automation platforms (e.g. FME) to streamline operations and improve decision-making.
  • Develop and implement AI-powered and automated solutions to optimise fibre optic network planning, supporting high-performance infrastructure delivery.
