iQube is an IT consulting company based in Lisbon, Portugal, specialising in accelerating its clients' digital transformation through intelligent and efficient technological solutions. The company focuses on three main areas of services: IT Outsourcing (providing scalable integration of experienced professionals), Project Implementation (custom software development, web and mobile applications) and AI Consulting (helping organisations implement and optimise Artificial Intelligence strategies, from feasibility assessments to building predictive systems). iQube operates with a flexible, customer‑centric approach, supporting both Portuguese national operations and international customers through a nearshore model. Network Engineer (Core & RAN) (Lisbon or Porto) We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer with a strong background in both Core and Radio Access Networks (RAN) to join the infrastructure team. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end connectivity that powers mobile and data services. This role requires a professional who can navigate the complexities of 4G/5G architectures, ensure high availability in the Core, and optimise performance at the edge (RAN). Mandatory Professional Experience: 3+ years of hands‑on experience in telecommunications or large‑scale network engineering. Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of Core protocols (GTP, Diameter, SIP, SCTP). Experience with RAN hardware (Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or Samsung) and radio optimisation tools. Solid understanding of SDN/NFV and virtualization within the network stack. Languages: English: Professional working proficiency (mandatory for global technical documentation). Portuguese: High proficiency/Fluency (mandatory for regional collaboration and vendor management). Location: Must be currently residing in the European Union (EU) with full work authorisation. Hybrid with 2 days per week in the Lisbon or Porto office (we may accept remote, depending on the location of the candidate). Preferred Qualifications (Plus) Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, Nokia NRS, or Ericsson Certified Associate. Experience with Network Automation using Python or Ansible. Familiarity with Cloud‑Native RAN (ORAN) and containerised network functions (CNFs). Knowledge of Microwave and Fibre backhaul technologies. The Impact You Will Make Network Reliability: You will be the guardian of our network uptime, ensuring seamless handovers and robust data throughput. Evolution to 5G: Play a key role in our migration strategies from legacy systems to 5G Core and Open RAN architectures. Cross‑Border Collaboration: Use your bilingual skills to interface between international technical hubs and local regional teams. Core Network Management: Maintain and optimise the mobile core (EPC/5G Core), handling routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and signalling. RAN Integration & Optimisation: Oversee the integration of eNodeB/gNodeB equipment, manage frequency planning, and troubleshoot radio‑related performance issues. Infrastructure Design: Contribute to the design of high‑availability network topologies and data centre interconnects. Capacity Planning: Monitor network traffic patterns to predict and implement necessary hardware and software upgrades. Incident Response: Lead Level 3 troubleshooting for complex outages involving both core switching and radio access points. #J-18808-Ljbffr
