STROMAE is the Portuguese branch of the MAESTRO Knitting group. We are a company developing and manufacturing fully fashioned knitwear garments for middle to high end international brands. We are a fast-growing group with offices and factories in Portugal, Bulgaria, Italy, France and China. We are counting >100 people worldwide, our Portuguese office located in Guimarães, Portugal.

JOB DESCRITPION :

We are looking for an experienced Stoll programmer who will be responsible to translate design specifications into machine-readable instructions to produce knitted pieces efficiently and accurately (use M1+ software from STOLL to create fully fashioned patterns). You understand customer’s needs and requirements (sketches, technical drawings, etc).

• You will report to the Development Manager and the Production Manager. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Close collaboration with Merchandisers and Production team to ensure the smooth execution of the styles you’re in charge. Communication with the Merchandisers for all the technical issues you may face. This means daily exchanges to always improve finishings, knitting efficiency, prices, of your knitting programs.
• Optimize knitting processes to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• You know how to read and interpretate a technical file. You can interpretate customer’s vision, you have a clear understanding of design concepts and a creative sensibility.
• You’re proactive and propose technical/aesthetical solutions to customer’s requests, and are able to optimize the cost of the garment manufacturing.
• Organized, you fill in all the information needed on the different files
• Technical files or swatch requests you notify : yarn(s) used, consumption, time, machine…
• Processes and internal records of knitting programs, machine type and settings, production metrics are maintained
• You’re clear and your programs can be understood by other programmers if needed.
• Every new yarn batch and production yarn are tested once received, you check consistency of quality.

• SKILLS & ASSETS :
• You have a minimum of 3-5 years of knitwear programming.
• You have experience in product development and production.
• You can understand and translate complex garments’s development on M1Plus Software + you have knowledges on the Create+ software.
• You are client-oriented and able to handle several programming at the same time, smoothly and reactively (dealing with pressure, development & production and strict deadlines). Communication is deeply embedded in the DNA of the company.
• You have interested in design and in fashion in general.
• You are creative and curious to develop new stitches, technics, and shapes.
• You speak Portuguese fluently and have a good level of English.
• You have a good 3D vision, you know how to translate a shape into fully fashioned panels.
• You are a problem-solver, you are flexible, and you have an eye for detail.
