CobbleWeb, a leader in online marketplace development, is looking for an exceptional technical lead for our multi-vendor commerce platform – ShareWise.
ShareWise is a React/Node-based library of modular components that can be combined in plug-and-play fashion to build high-growth marketplaces. Its component-based architecture and open-source license make it highly customisable and scalable, setting it apart from template-based ecommerce platforms like Adobe Commerce (previously Magento), CS-Cart, or Shopify.

- Areas Of Responsibility
- Support purpose-driven development by designing technical solutions that are aligned with the application’s business model and use cases.
- Create, re-evaluate and constantly refine a technical vision that is aligned with the product goals.
- Build and nurture a collaborative team feedback culture to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Create buy-in and alignment among the team with regards to both technical vision as well as granular choices in order to drive efficiencies.
- Take the lead in planning, compiling and maintaining technical documentation (internal and external)
- Ensure a high-performance, scalable and maintainable platform by choosing the right technical architecture, data model and framework.
- Apply best practices – avoid reinventing the wheel and make decisions based on impact.
- Drive Agile methodologies in the team to produce outstanding results.
- Own the quality control process – promote user satisfaction, drive code quality, and push product excellence.
- Job Requirements
- Proven track record of applying design thinking to platform architecture.
- 2+ years relevant software engineering experience: building commercially successful frameworks or developer-facing platforms with significant traction.
- 5+ years advanced software engineering experience in any competitive product vertical.
- 3+ years in an Agile environment that utilised Behaviour Driven Development, Test Driven Development, Event Driven Architecture, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
- 2+ years experience in a software development leadership role.
- Recommended: exposure to commerce platform development, in particular, online marketplaces.
- Engineering Skills
- Expert with NodeJS (5+ years experience).
- Expert with various NodeJS frameworks – e.g. Express, Nest, Fastify (5+ years experience).
- Expert with MySQL, PostgreSQL and MongoDB (3+ years experience).
- Some developing experience with ReactJS (2+ years experience).
- Experience of REST APIs / GraphQL.
- Use of Docker/Terraform in local and production environments.
- Experience with test automation.
- Experience with integration of third-party applications like Stripe, RabbitMQ, Redis, AWS or Elasticsearch is a plus.
