About the role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer (Node.js) with at least 1 year of professional experience, based in Portugal (remote), who is deeply technical and curious about how backend decisions impact mobile applications, and who’s open to getting hands-on with mobile.

This role is ideal for someone who loves systems, APIs, and architecture, but also wants to stay close to the product and understand the full stack.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Designing and building robust backend systems and APIs (Node.js)
  • Designing and building beautiful mobile experiences (React Native)
  • Making architectural decisions around scalability, performance, and security
  • Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
  • Reviewing code and contributing to technical standards
  • What we’re looking for
  • 1+ years of experience as a backend/full-stack engineer
  • Strong knowledge of Node.js, APIs, and backend architectures
  • Experience with frontend (web or mobile) frameworks
  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and system design
  • Experience with databases, integrations, and production systems
  • Comfortable communicating in English (written and spoken)
  • Comfortable discussing technical and project details directly with clients.
  • Used to working with Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and structured delivery processes

  • Experience working in product-focused teams rather than pure delivery
